Implementing an internal communication and content strategy to engage with transport planners around the globe
Data Pitch is a European Commission funded startup accelerator programme. Its purpose is to bring startups and SME’s together to innovate with data. We were engaged us to develop and deliver the communication strategy for the launch, with the goal of enlisting participants into the programme.
Our work began by creating a set of key messages – focusing on the vision for the Data Pitch programme and the benefits for its target audiences. We then developed a plan to deliver these through social media, stakeholder outreach and media relations. Finally, we engaged with ‘innovation influencers’ to sign up to a ‘Thunderclap’ campaign, to cut through the general Twitter noise with a trending hashtag.
Allegory has provided communications support for the Data Pitch programmes for a number of years. Their understanding of startups in the tech and data space, solid media relationships and experience of integrated campaigning have made a significant contribution to the overall success of these programmes.

We negotiated a media exclusive with TechCrunch, and secured coverage in 90 outlets, including the The Guardian and La Tribune.
Our strategy helped Data Pitch work with 47 startups from 13 different European countries, generating 120 jobs and an economic impact of £10 million.
